Hospital-acquired infections (HAIs), also known as nosocomial infections, pose a significant threat to patient safety and public health. These infections, which patients acquire during the course of receiving treatment for other conditions, can lead to serious health complications, prolonged hospital stays, and increased healthcare costs. To combat this issue, a comprehensive workshop on the surveillance of HAIs is organized in collaboration with AIIMS-CDC-ICMR.
The one-day workshop covers a wide range of topics through lectures, interactive sessions, and group discussions. Overview of HAIs, including common types (e.g., bloodstream infections, surgical site infections, ventilator-associated pneumonia, and urinary tract infections), techniques for collecting accurate and reliable HAI data. The workshop also includes Intensive Care Unit (ICU) rounds and a Demo on Respiratory Maintenance and Care.
